Herbs are a gift from the creator. They contain a myriad of nutritious and therapeutic constituents, such as vitamins, minerals and trace elements, together with active medicinal properties, all of which are compatible with the human body. They can be best understood as our helpers.
Herbal medicine recognises that herbs work on the whole being, not just on specific systems. This means that the whole effect of a personal carefully chosen herbal remedy is vastly greater than the sum of its individual constituents.
In prescribing Western herbs, I take into account both the Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurvedic traditions, which date back more than 3,000 and 5,000 years respectively, as well as current Western practices.
